Kärcher cleans Indonesian monument

Hot water high-pressure cleaners in steam mode were used for the work. The almost pressureless steam operation of the devices made it possible to remove biological soiling effectively and, above all, gently from the natural stone surfaces of the monument. Compared to high-pressure cleaning, only a low pressure of 0.5 to 1 bar is exerted on the stone surface during steam cleaning. The cleaning effect with a temperature of approx. 95°C is mainly achieved by the hot steam. The hot steam also minimizes deeply embedded spores, which delays re-growth.

After Kärcher cleaned the Monas National Monument in Jakarta in 2014 for the second time, the Bajra Sandhi is Kärcher's youngest cleaning project in Indonesia. Alongside the cleaning of the Noon Gate in Vietnam and the San Agustín Church in the Philippines, it is one of the most impressive historical buildings in Southeast Asia that the company has been able to help preserve.
