Dakar Rally

Following the enormous success of Kärcher car washes at the 2014 Dakar Rally, 2015 was our fourth year cleaning the vehicles as official supplier. We also sponsored the KTM and Mini's Monster Energy Rally Raid Teams.

Following the enormous success of Kärcher car washes at the 2014 Dakar Rally, 2015 was our fourth year cleaning the vehicles as official supplier. We also sponsored the KTM and Mini's Monster Energy Rally Raid Teams.

We set up cleaning stations in three bivouacs along the 9,000 km-long route, where all teams were able to give their vehicles a thorough wash using high-pressure cleaners before they were prepared overnight for the following day. In Argentina, these facilities were provided in Rosario and Villa Carlos Paz, while in Chile we offered the popular service in Iquique.

In 2015 about 2,500 racing and support vehicles got washed along the route – contributing in this way to the safety of the racing drivers. This assistance went down very well with the teams and demonstrated the effectiveness of Kärcher systems, even under tough conditions.

The drivers weren't the only ones to benefit from the service – effects on the environment were also taken into account. Kärcher high-pressure cleaners use up to 80% less fresh water compared to conventional washing with a hose. The water used at the stations was collected and recirculated.
